MEN'S BASKETBALL: Tennessee Tech added to home schedule

The Ball State University men's basketball team no longer has an unknown opponent in this year's schedule.

The Mid-American Conference released the 2009 ESPNU BracketBuster matchups and has the Cardinals paired up with Tennessee Tech University at Worthen Arena on Feb. 21.

The Golden Eagles are 11-10 overall, with a 5-6 record in Ohio Valley Conference play.

Ball State and Tennessee Tech have two common opponents this year in Eastern Illinois University and Eastern Kentucky University.

Ball State is 1-0 against Eastern Illinois with a 72-59 season-opening win Nov. 15 while Tennessee Tech is 1-1 against Eastern Illinois, winning 67-60 at home Jan. 5 and losing 75-58 at Eastern Illinois Jan. 29.

Ball State lost 71-58 to visiting Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 13, while Tennessee Tech also lost to Eastern Kentucky on the road 85-80 Jan. 10 and play the Colonels in their next game Feb. 5.

The ESPNU BracketBusters is in its seventh season. It is a two-day men's college basketball event that aims to put potential NCAA Tournament teams against each other. There are 102 teams selected to participate, while 13 of those games will be nationally televised on the ESPN family of networks.
