INDIANAPOLIS - Ball State University offensive tackle Robert Brewster tied for the ninth best vertical jump by an offensive lineman at the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine.
Brewster recorded a jump of 30.5 inches at the Scouting Combine. The vertical jump is designed to measure players' lower-body explosion and power, according to NFL.com.
The best jump by an offensive lineman this year was by Travis Bright from Brigham Young University, who jumped 35.5 inches. Brewster tied with Andy Levitre from Oregon State University, Eric Wood from the University of Louisville and Michael Oher from the University of Mississippi.
On NFL.com, Gil Brandt, NFL.com commentator and former vice president of player personnel for the Dallas Cowboys, lists 30 inches as the target offensive linemen should strive for in order to be considered for further evaluation by NFL teams.
Brewster did not finish in the top 10 of linemen for the bench press or 40-yard dash.
