The Ball State University men's basketball team defeated Western Michigan University 50-44 tonight at Worthen Arena to tie the Broncos atop the Mid-American Conference West Division standings.
With the win, the Cardinals improve to .500 on the season with a 8-8 (3-1 MAC) overall record, while the Broncos fall to 6-11 (3-1 MAC). The win also marks the first time since the 2003-2004 season that Ball State won three out of its first four conference games of the season.
Leading the way for Ball State was senior guard Brandon Lampley's 16 points, while senior guard Laron Frazier had 10 points and sophomore forward Malik Perry had 11 rebounds and eight points and freshman center Jarrod Jones had six points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
For Western Michigan, senior forward Derek Drews had 17 points, while junior guard David Kool had 11 points.
