The Ball State University football team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2009 schedule on Monday.
Ball State will open the season with home games against the University of North Texas on Sept. 3, and the University of New Hampshire on Sept. 12.
In addition, Ball State will play at Army on Sept. 19, and at Auburn University on Sept. 26.
Ball State enters the 2009 season after finishing the 2008 regular season undefeated and being ranked as high as No. 12 in the BCS standings. The Cardinals ended the season with a loss to the University at Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference Championship Game and a loss to the University of Tulsa in the GMAC Bowl.
The four non-conference teams Ball State will play in 2009 were a combined 19-30 in the 2008, with New Hampshire - a Football Championship Subdivision team - having the best record at 10-3.
North Texas finished last season 1-11, including a 51-40 win against Western Kentucky University.
Auburn missed a bowl game for the first time in 10 years, as it finished with 5-7 record last season. Army lost its final four games to end the 2008 season at 3-9.
