Drivers staying safe despite snowy conditions

The slick snow has made driving conditions hazardous on roads close to Ball State University, but drivers have been successful in steering clear of major accidents.

"It's been quiet so far," Indiana State Police trooper Jarrod Alexander said. "We haven't had any major accidents since the snow started falling."

No supervisors in charge of snow removalon campus were available for comment because they were all out on snow plows clearing the roads and sidewalks.

Even though there are no serious accidents to report, Alexander said, the likelihood for an accident will remain high through the night. Muncie is expected to see four to six inches of snow tonight.

Alexander said the best way to stay safe is by exercising common sense.

"Just slow down and adjust your speed accordingly," he said.
