Less than 48 hours after its bid for an undefeated season ended, the Ball State University football team is seeing the affects in the polls.
The Cardinals dropped 11 spots to No. 23 in this week's Associated Press Poll released Sunday afternoon.
Ball State (12-1, 8-0 Mid-American Conference) received 249 votes - 585 fewer votes than in last week's poll - following a 42-24 loss to the unranked University at Buffalo in the MAC Championship Game on Friday. This is the Cardinals' worst ranking since being ranked No. 24 in the Oct. 12 AP Poll.
Along with the AP Poll, the Cardinals moved down nine spots to No. 22 in the Coaches Poll released Sunday.
For the first time this season Buffalo (8-5 5-3 MAC) received votes in the Coaches Poll. The Bulls received three votes and are listed at No. 34.
In both polls, Ball State was the lowest ranked one-loss team.
