TOLEDO, Ohio - The Ball State University women's volleyball team ended its season Friday night with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-18) loss to Ohio University in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals.
With the loss, the Cardinals ended with a 12-21 (6-11 MAC) record, an improvement from last season's 5-25 (4-12 MAC) record.
"I thought it was a well-played match on both sides of the ball," coach Dave Boos said. "This group growing together is going to make a special team next Fall."
Junior opposite side attacker Elaina Kakatolis and sophomore middle blocker Charde' Phillips both had a team-high 10 kills in the match.
Defensively, the Cardinals' sophomore libero Alyssa Rio had a match-high 12 digs.
For the Bobcats (21-7, 14-3 MAC), 2008 MAC Player of the Year, Ellen Herman, had a match-high 13 kills, while Meghan Simons had 10 kills with a .421 attack percentage and three blocks.
Ohio hit .359 for the match.
With the win, the Bobcats advance to play No. 3 seed Miami University in Saturday's MAC Semifinal match.
