WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Cards look to change fortunes in preseason WNIT vs. Indiana

Ball State University will go to the preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament this year for the first time since 2002-03.

The 16-team tournament begins for Ball State on Friday in Bloomington against Indiana University. It's Indiana's first tournament since its 1998-99 season.

Ball State trails 3-23 against the Hoosiers all-time. Ball State has gone 0-18 since the 1978-79 season. Also, Ball State is 0-15 when playing at Bloomington.

Ball State lost its game against the Hoosiers last year 71-76.

  • Sue Tussey went 7-6 in her first season in 1977-78.

  • Marsha Reall went 13-14 in her first season in 1985-86.
  • Ethel Gregory went 4-23 in her first season in 1986-87.
  • Robyn Markey went 3-23 in her first season in 1992-93.
  • Brenda Oldfield went 16-13 in her first season in 1999-2000.
  • Tracy Roller went 24-8 in her first season in 2001-02.
