The reaction to Po Bronson's speech in Pruis Hall on Tuesday was different for each person that attended.
About 353 people, consisting of Ball State University students and members of the Muncie community, took part in Bronson's speech about his book, "What should I do with my life?"
A confused computer science graduate student Mary Fleming said she believed the speech inspired students.
"When you are already confused about what you want to do with your life, hearing someone else tell you 'you should listen to yourself and do what you want to do' doesn't really help you," she said.
Other students seemed more satisfied about what Bronson had to say. Biomechanics graduate student Tameka Clanton said she thought the author gave helpful advice.
"I know even though I've drawn certain tasks as far as my schooling," she said. "There are some other things that I have the interest in doing."
The Ball State Career Center organized the event. Assistant director of the Career Center James Mitchell said he had to hope students would get a better idea of how they should shape their careers.
"Students use our services and some others get their jobs without our services," said Mitchell. "So we would like to see is a lot more students use our service, especially given the recession that we might get into."
