Football: Cards ranked No. 25 in new AP Poll

Less than 24 hours after getting its first shutout win in eight years, the Ball State University football team now has another reason to be happy.

The Cardinals received 97 votes and are ranked No. 25 in the newest Associated Press Poll released Sunday afternoon.

Ball State (6-0 3-0 Mid-American Conference), which received 59 more votes than it did last week, defeated the University of Toledo 31-0 Saturday.

With Saturday's win, Ball State became bowl eligible and has its best start since 1965.
