University Program Board is giving students alternative activities for Halloween.
UPB will have the first Fall Fest in the Quad from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Junior telecommunications major Sam Maples said it will provide a laid back atmosphere where people can go to relax.
"It's kind of an alternative to the typical Halloween activity," Maples said.
UPB hopes to attract 400 to 600 people with food, games and live music, she said.
Students can get chili, pie, caramel apples, popcorn and candy corn, she said, as well as play cornhole, paint pumpkins and compete in three legged races, sack races, bat races and a pie eating contest.
Maples said Hillary Tribbett, Alex Dobbert, and They've Shot Flanagan will play music through out the event.
UPB's annual Haunted House will open at 7 p.m. in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center as well.
Sophomore John Speer said it will have a construction-gone-bad theme and visitors must find their way out.
UPB will use most of the Student Center that isn't under renovation, he said.
If turn out is anything like the past year's, Speer said, anywhere between 600 and 800 people will visit the house.
Both events are free for Ball State University students and $1 for guests.
