The first act of this year's Homecoming begins today with the Homecoming Royalty Fashion Show. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Pruis Hall, with an admission of $1.
Homecoming Publicity Chair Jennifer Regnier said there are 36 couples from different student organizations who will compete in the fashion show.
All candidates were nominated by their respective student organizations during the Spring 2008 semester.
"The crowd can expect to see some entertaining custom duos," she said. "It's going to be a fun and energetic event."
Royalty Chairman Mary Ann Clark said the doors will open at about 7 p.m. Students Brittany Martin and Austin Gerber will emcee the event.
At the end of the show, the top five Homecoming King and top five Homecoming Queen candidates will be announced, Clark said. Voting for royalty candidates ended Tuesday, and the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced Sept. 25 during the intermission of Air Jam.
