FOOTBALL: Ball State sinks Navy with aerial assault

In the early stages of Friday's game against Navy, it looked as though Ball State University would turn the contest into a blowout.

A couple possessions later, the Cardinals discovered it's always a mistake to underestimate the amount of fight in a Navy cadet.

Facing an 11-point deficit midway through he first quarter, Navy fought back to take a two-point lead in the second half before Ball State rallied to win 35-23. The win, which was broadcasted on ESPN and in front of a school-record 10,521 students, pushed the Cardinals record to 2-0 for the first time since 1995.

Senior receiver Dante Love earned player of the game honors with 165 receiving yards on nine receptions and two touchdowns catches. He also rushed the ball for 37 yards on six carries, one of which was a six-yard touchdown.

After breaking Navy's single-game school rushing record in its season opener, running back Shun White led the Midshipmen with 128 rushing yards. It was the first time in his career the senior has record two consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
