Players to represent BSU on national level

Two Ball State University athletes were selected to represent Ball State University on the national level Monday.

Football player Brandon Crawford and men's golfer Ross Cosat were selected to represent the Cardinals at the 2008 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference. The conference runs from May 25 through May 29 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

"Obviously it's an awesome opportunity for Ross to go down there with Brandon," men's golf coach Mike Fleck said. "I am excited Ross was selected out the quality of students we have on campus. He exemplifies everything in the young men we look for. He is dedicated in the classroom and in his sport. Ross embodies the type of student-athletes that I look for in representing the men's golf program."

The conference, which will include 700 student-athletes, is an event for collegiate athletes to discuss issues that affect them in their communities. They also work on enhancing their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

The conference is split into two sessions, with the first one taking place May 25-27 and the second one taking place May 27-29. Cosat will represent Ball State in the first session and Crawford will represent the university in the second session.
