Resident Assistants who want to attend the International Bowl need to think again.
Ro Anne Royer, assistant director of housing and residence life, said RAs are contractually obligated to return to Ball State University by Jan. 4 to help students move in Jan. 5, which is the date of the bowl game.
Royer said the university cannot change the move-in dates to allow RAs to attend the game.
"We do understand, and we want them to support the students," she said. "It's just kind of unfortunate the bowl game happens to be on the fifth."
Housing and residence life had received one indirect request from an RA to attend the game, Royer said. The university has not received any complaints about not being able to attend the game, she said.
