Almost a month removed from its last competition, the Ball State University men's swimming and diving team lost at the University at Buffalo Saturday.
The Bulls defeated the Cardinals 129 to 113.
Junior Mark Augustyn won the 200-yard freestyle and sophomore Ben Battjes won the 50-yard freestyle. Senior Ryan Franklin won the 200-yard breaststroke and the Cardinals won the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Junior David Linn won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving for the Cardinals.
The women's team also lost to Buffalo 143.5 to 99.5.
Senior Addison Del Rio won the 200-yard individual medley. Junior Meghan Patterson won the 1650-yard freestyle and junior Megan Ploetz won the 200-yard fly.
Sophomore Emily Hurst won the 200-yard breaststroke.
The Cardinals women won at the University of Akron 161 to 139 Friday. The men's team did not compete.
Del Rio won three events: the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley.
Freshman Maria Gramelspacher and sophomore Mary Ehresman each won two events.
Ehresman won the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle events.
Gramelspacher won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly.
Gramelspacher and Del Rio were part of the Cardinals 200-yard medley relay team which won. Gramelspacher was also part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that won.
