Sigma Kappa sorority is having its second annual Texas Hold'em Tournament today with the proceeds going to Alzheimer's disease research.
Ball State University students have their choice of playing poker or euchre from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Ballroom. The cost to player poker is $7 per person and the cost to play euchre is $14 per team.
Foundation Chairwoman Katie Hennessey said the player with the most chips at the end of the poker game advances, and the euchre team that beats the rest wins. Players who get out of the tournament can still play at other tables for fun, she said.
Philanthropy Chairwoman Paula Roberts said there would be a first, second and third place winner for both games.
"Each year it's bound to get better and people like the games," she said. "This is a way to get the campus involved in a cause."
