IDEE sponsors digital exchange

Organization sets up displays to inform about group's events

Digital, cross-media projects were shown off during the Institute for Digital Entertainment and Education's digital exchange showcase this week in the David Letterman Communication and Media Building.

Production Specialist Jessica Seaton said IDEE had the showcase to inform students and faculty about what the institute does and what it wants to do.

"We want to get the word out to students and faculty to get involved," Seaton said. "We're recruiting for a couple of big projects next spring."

The showcase featured Web-isodes, student films and information about other digital projects.

Seaton said student turnout throughout the week was good.

Senior health science major Christian Ojomo said he enjoyed the showcase.

"I just watched this movie... It was real dramatic and kept you in it," Ojomo said. "[Overall], I'm real impressed, it's real informational."

Seaton was happy with the event and said IDEE has big plans for the coming semester.

"We just want people to know who we are and what we do," she said.

Seaton said one of the biggest projects is a Web-isode series that students will work on during the Spring Semester.

IDEE had a contest looking for scripts, and $1,000 was given to the winner, she said. Students will use the script, which is a dramatic comedy, to create and produce the short Web-isode. Other students will work to create a Web site with the features, she said.

Seaton said the other Web-isode is about saving money and sustainability.
