The Ball State University football team was eliminated from Mid-American Conference championship contention Tuesday.
With a 34-31 win Tuesday against Western Michigan University, Central Michigan University improved to 5-0 in the MAC and won the West Division.
Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour ran for a one-yard touchdown with 12 seconds remaining in the game to secure the victory for the Chippewas.
Ball State would become bowl eligible with one more win. At 5-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference, the Cardinals are second in the MAC West.
