MEN'S TENNIS: Freshman advances to Regional quarterfinals

Three Ball State University players competed in the International Tennis Associations Midwest Regional Tournament in Minneapolis, Minn. this weekend.

Freshman Eduardo Pavia is in the Quarterfinals of the Singles Consolation Draw, after defeating Marquette University's Steven Shao (7-6(7);2-6;6-1), The Ohio State University's Ty Schaub (6-4;4-6;6-4) and University of Notre Dame's Dan Stahl (7-6;6-1).

The doubles combination of senior Jarrod Epeky and junior Jose Perdomo, who competed in the ITA All-American Tournament in Tulsa, Okla. three weeks ago, took round one (8-2), only to fall in the second round (8-6).

Neither Epkey, Perdomo or Pavia made it out of the first round of the Singles Main Draw, as they all lost in two straight sets.

The Cardinals' next tournament is at the University of Texas at Austin Nov. 2.
