About 200 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ball State University Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house.
Fraternity president Kevin Miller said the event was a great way to bring the chapter's plans to the university's attention.
"It was a great ceremony and a great way to kick off the construction and let the alumni know what's going on with the house," he said.
The $3 million house's construction will begin in November or December and will be located in the 1100 block of Riverside Avenue next to the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house. Sigma Phi Epsilon is currently located at 1515 W. Riverside Ave.
