Center offers cultural program

Groups of Americans and internationals will learn about various cultures from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the Yuhas Room of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center.

Ball State University's The Rinker Center for International Programs is holding its 1st Friday event where participants can learn about ceremonies such as the birth of a child, weddings, birthdays and holidays, Deb Goens, immigration specialist/program coordinator, said.

"This is an opportunity to learn about cultures, meet someone new and from other countries, and to learn things about your culture you never thought about before," she said.

The event is free for everyone and other topics will be discussed on Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7.
