WOMEN'S GOLF: Cards to play at BG invitational in conference tourney tune-up

Ball State to meet 20-30 mph winds in two 18-hole rounds

Ball State University heads to Bowling Green as they compete in the Falcon Invitational today and Tuesday, the final tournament before the Mid-American Conference Championship. The 36-hole, two-day event will be played at the Stone Ridge Golf Course in Bowling Green, Ohio. The forecast in Bowling Green for today predicts sunshine with 20-30 mph winds and a high of 54 degrees.

Other MAC schools competing against Ball State University in the Falcon Invitational include the host school, Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.

"We need to do the little things right and play our game," senior captain Kallie Harrison said.

Two weeks ago, the Cardinals finished third behind the University of Detroit Mercy and the University of Cincinnati after the second round was canceled because of severe weather.

"I honestly believe we would have come out on top," coach Katherine Mowat said, "I hope we can play all 36 holes this time."

The format of the Falcon Invitational will be played in a six, count four format, in which six golfers from each school play and the four best scores are recorded.

"We have learned from every tournament this spring," Mowat said, "We need to put it all together and get some good individual scores and some good team scores."
