MEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals' losing streak grows to 3 games

Ball State University's men's tennis team is now on its longest losing streak of the season after a loss Tuesday against Indiana State University. The three-game deficit drops the Cardinals to 8-13 for the season. Ball State started the match by winning the doubles point but ended up falling short with a final score of 4-3 against the Sycamores.

"We were not mentally tough today," coach Bill Richards said. "We did not bounce back after the Western Michigan [University] match."

Bret Berryman won his singles match Tuesday. The freshman was moved back up to the No. 4 singles position today, because Jarrod Epkey did not play singles against the Sycamores. Berryman was also one of two players to win in singles against Western Michigan University last Saturday.

"He popped back up and played at four today," Richards said.

Joe Vallee also won his singles match, and Richards said Vallee won his singles match pretty easily. Jose Perdomo lost his first set but battled his way back in the second set, only to lose the third set. Jimmy Brannon and Aaron Phillips both lost in straight sets.
