Police continue to search for Purdue student

WEST LAFAYETTE - The Purdue Police Department is asking members of the community to participate in a search effort to help find a missing university student.

Anyone who is interested in helping with the search for Wade Steffey, 19, is asked to meet at 2 p.m. today at the Purdue Police Department at 200 S. Intramural Drive.

Capt. Tim Potts of the Purdue Police Department said anyone who wants to participate should come dressed for the weather conditions. Police are also asking University building deputies to organize searches of campus buildings.

Steffey, a freshman in the College of Technology, has been missing since early Saturday morning. He was last seen at a party at Phi Kappa Theta wearing a long-sleeve blue shirt with light blue stripes and light-colored jeans.

Steffey is white with short brown hair. He is 5 foot 10 and weighs about 150 pounds.
