We have some very important elections coming up in only a matter of weeks, and it is certainly an important time to be a voter in America. We need to make sure that we stay in charge while President Bush serves his last two years in office. A change in Congress would be devastating to the president's policies and would completely tear this nation apart when we really need unity, and we need people to be working together.
If, God forbid, Democrats were to gain control of Congress, it would be a dark day for American politics.
Nancy Pelosi is currently the House Minority leader. and if Democrats regain control she will likely become Speaker of the House and would bring her brand of politics into the chamber. This would include, but not be limited to, amnesty for illegal aliens running out of Iraq and restricting the tools of the government when it comes to our security. She might be a fine representative for the people of San Francisco, where her district is located, but she does not represent the values of this country.
Democrats in Congress are agitated, to say the least. The Democrats have not held control of Congress in more than a decade. They are frustrated that they have to sit back and watch Republicans at work. They are desperate to get control, but that is not going to happen and I will tell you why.
Democrats have no real plan. They oppose whatever is going on, but they fail to offer realistic and plausible solutions for this country's problems.
Republicans, for example, want to stay in Iraq until the Iraqis are strong enough to defend themselves. Democrats want to give them a date for when we will leave and wish them the best of luck.
Republicans have worked hard in the past six years to help Americans in any way they can while they have control of Congress. They have passed legislation to keep us safe and in more ways than one. They keep us safe by supporting the brave men and women who are charged with the task of defending us. They also keep us safe by creating a national registry of sex offenders. They keep us safe by allowing us to keep guns in our home without excessive restriction. Finally, they help keep us safe by requiring everyone who comes in this country to do so legally and be registered.
Does anyone else see a pattern?
Republicans do what they know to be right without hesitation. They demonstrated this by toppling Saddam's dictatorship without waiting for a permission slip from the United Nations.
If you always wait for permission to do something that you know is the right thing to do, the window of opportunity to do what is right may close on you and you are stuck with just wishing.
Congress is too important to the security of this country to leave control of it up to the Democrats. All Americans need to realize that Republicans know how to keep us the strong nation that we are. Be sure and vote on Nov. 7 and be sure to vote for the right reasons.
