Roberts Hotel to close Oct. 31
The Roberts Hotel in downtown Muncie will close its doors Tuesday, Oct. 31 because of financial problems, according to a letter from Kirby Brown, the general manager.
Brown could not be reached for comment.
The letter, dated Sept. 22, says there are no plans for the building, which is located at 420 S. High St., across from the Horizon Center. The hotel, which has 132 guest rooms and 27 suites, is one of about a dozen in Muncie.
Employees include Ball State University students who work in the restaurant or cater during events.
