Four members of the Ball State University men's golf team are still playing in the 106th Indiana State Amateur Championship.

C.D. Hockersmith, Wayne Denger, Andy Skillman and Travis Smith all made the second-round cut. Hockersmith and Denger are tied for ninth place after three rounds with a score of six-over par. Skillman and Smith are tied for 29th place at ten-over. The leader, Chris Clemens of Beech Grove, Ind., is two-under par.

The final round will be played on Thursday.

The championship is being held at the Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. The Indiana Amateur Championship is the oldest and most prestigious golf tournament in Indiana. It was first played at the Country Club of Indianapolis in 1900 and has been played every year since with the exception of 1917.

From 1900 to 1972 the championship was contested in a match play format. In 1973, the format was changed to 72 holes of stroke play.
