Joe Ness was named co-Mid-American Conference West Pitcher of the Week on Monday, the second straight week a Ball State hurler was honored.
Ben Snyder took the award last week, and Ness shared it this week with Toledo's J.R. Duffey.
Ness allowed just one run on five singles and a walk against Bowling Green's in Ball State's 8-7 victory Friday. The Falcons came in hitting .320 as a team with 8.5 runs per game. The junior righthander also struck out nine batters while improving his record to 3-1.
On the season Ness has a 6.00 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 33 innings.
Ball State plays host to Purdue on Wednesday, then travels to Northern Illinois for a weekend MAC series.
