MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING Team ends regular season with hom loss

The Ball State men's swimming and diving team ended its season Friday by losing to Eastern Michigan at Lewellen Aquatic Center.

Though the Cardinals suffered a 138.5-108.5 loss to the Eagles, it was still a good night, as the team celebrated Senior Night. Ryan Bowman, Zach Hall, Ryan Plantz, Jeff Sheets, Paul Whitaker and Josh Willer all swam in their last regular-season meet Friday.

Hall, Willer and Bowman, along with freshman Tyler McQuiston, began the meet by taking second in the 400 medley relay.

Bowman went on to receive second in the 200 butterfly (1:57.33), and Willer went on to win the 200 breaststroke (2:11.99).

Plantz finished his regular season by receiving fifth place in the 1-meter diving event and first in the 3-meter diving event.

Also, Ritchie Caudill received the Douglas A. Coers Memorial Scholarship, an award that has become a tradition given by the team in memory of the former BSU swimmer.

Caudill received third place in both the 200 IM and the 200 Breaststroke on Friday.
