NewsLink Indiana seeks online writers

NewsLink Indiana, a news service for East Central Indiana, is currently seeking local correspondents to write about the latest news for its online edition.

"We are seeking people to send us their news about what is going on in their communities," Wright Bryan, Web news editor said. "We aren't looking for someone to break the next Watergate scandal, but if there is a meeting in a small town about a problem, send your story to us."

Submitted stories will be placed on the "Your News" page at www.newslinkindiana.com.

Terry Heifetz, managing editor for NewsLink, said the online version will be updated more frequently than several newspaper sites and will contain stronger content than what is featured on television news' Web sites.

The NewsLink project is part of the university's $4 million digital journalism convergence initiative.

In addition to the online service, news and weather reports will be featured on Indiana Public Radio and viewed on WIPB-TV in Grant, Blackford, Jay, Randolph, Wayne, Henry, Madison and Delaware counties.
