LETTER: 'Police Yourself' slogan means police are taking over campus, running misguided crackdown

Dear Editor,

"Police Yourself"? It would be OK if the slogan actually meant "Police Yourself." Instead, the "police" are taking over Ball State University's campus on a rampage to see who they can bust for drinking.

This is why a sophomore student was shot and killed -- because the police were too busy trying to knock out underage drinking. It's too bad they missed the murder of a student.

Next order of business: If you drive people home who are intoxicated, you get into trouble. I have an idea: Let's let the intoxicated students drive home themselves and see how many other students they can take out in the process.

University Police Department: The less students to worry about, the better.

Better yet: Walk, and if you accidentally go to the wrong house while walking -- because you can't get a ride from someone -- you'll lose your life. Ball State University used to be a great place to experience college to the fullest and learn to become responsible. Too bad it's going down the tubes.
