Ball State's Festival of Dance will be on stage at 8 p.m. April 22 to 24 and at 2:30 p.m. April 25 in University Theatre.
The performance showcases the talents of Ball State's Department of Theatre and Dance, from classical ballet to lyrical modern to tap dancing. Dances are choreographed and performed by faculty, students and three guest choreographers.
"I am thrilled to be able to bring all these wonderful pieces to the Muncie community," artistic director Lou Ann Young said. "It is an opportunity to show the community what is happening in the dance world today."
The Festival of Dance will also showcase the work of guest choreographer Bill Evans. One of his works, "Ground Zero," explores the disgust and hatred resulting from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
Tickets are $12 for the general public, $11 for faculty and staff, $9 for senior citizens and $6 for students. The University Theatre box office is open from 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays and one hour before shows. For more information, call 285-8749.
