BOWLING BSU falls twice at national championship

The Ball State women's bowling club ended its season at the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships this past weekend in Tulsa, Okla.

After playing a total of 32 Baker games on Thursday, a game in which five members of the team each bowl two frames, the team was given the No. 15 seed for competition on Friday.

With the No. 15 seed, the team took on No. 2-seeded Pikeville College in a best-of-seven Baker games series. The Cards ended up losing 4-2 to a Pikeville team that eventually won the championship.

"We didn't just lay down and give up," senior JoAnna Juenemann said about bowling against Pikeville. "We gave them a run for their money."

The Championship was double elimination. Ball State played Fresno State in the second round in another best-of-seven series. After falling down 3-1 in the series the team came back to tie it, but ended up losing the deciding game 160-145.
