INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Hoosiers have less than a week to register to vote in this year's primaries and nonpartisan school board elections.
Residents must be registered by Monday to vote on May 4.
State election officials said they do not expect heavy turnout in part because of the lack of competitive primary races. However, there are some races to watch.
Mitch Daniels and Eric Miller, for instance, are battling for the Republican nomination for governor.
Secretary of State Todd Rokita said school board elections throughout the state could also bring voters to the polls.
Voters can choose either a Democratic or Republican ballot. Those who want to remain nonpartisan can ask for school-board-only ballots.
Hoosiers who have not yet registered can find applications at county voter registration offices, Bureau of Motor Vehicles branches, public libraries and township trustee offices.
