Sophomore Matt Baccarani has been named Mid-American Conference Tennis Player of the Week for going 3-0 in two Ball State victories Saturday.
Baccarani scored a 6-2, 6-1 victory over IUPUI's Brian Slack in the Cardinals' 7-0 win Saturday. Later that day, he defeated Valparaiso's Ben Dunham-Freer 6-1, 6-2 in another 7-0 Cardinal victory.
Baccarani and his doubles partner Patrick Thompson won 8-0 against IUPUI's No. 1 doubles team.
The award is the second of Baccarani's career. He received the award once last year as a freshman.
The men's tennis team is ranked No. 63 in the nation.
