Junior Stephanie Keller and sophomore Sarah Obras of the BallState women's volleyball team were named to the 2003 AcademicAll-Mid-American Conference Volleyball Team on Monday. The league'sfaculty athletic representatives selected the squad, which featuresnine members this year, not the traditional six, because of a tiein the voting.
Keller made the Academic All-MAC team for the second-straightyear. The Cardinals' libero currently holds a 3.606 GPA as asecondary education major. Earlier this year, Keller was named tothe All-MAC second team for her play on the court.
Obras has not appeared on the Academic All-MAC team until now,but she has already been named to the 2003 Academic All-District VUniversity Division Women's Volleyball Second Team from the CollegeSports Information Directors of America.
Obras, a business major with a 3.742 GPA, also made the All-MACfirst team for the second consecutive year this season.
Filling out the other seven spots on the team are EasternMichigan's Jennifer Nighswander, Miami's Tara Buroker, Akron'sSandy Lewis, Bowling Green's Susie Norris, Kent State's DanielleHolt, Ohio's Laura Hageman and Western Michigan's CarmanMalone.
