MEN'S GOLF | BSU looks to end struggles at Saturday's Hoosier Invitational

Men's golf head coach Mike Fleck is anticipating a collaborative effort from the men's golf team in the Hoosier Invitational this weekend, a goal the team has struggled with in the fall season.

"My expectation for this match is to go in and do a better job competitively and to have five guys across the board who have contributed at a competitive level," Fleck said.

Sophomore Patrick Wilkes-Krier at No. 1, freshman C.D. Hockersmith, sophomore Brandon Boomsa, freshman Wayne Denger and junior Mike Kasula will be traveling.

"Hopefully all five of those guys will perform well and put together a collective effort," Fleck said.

Competition at the event will include Mid-American Conference schools Miami (Ohio), Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green and Akron.

The rest of the field consists of Indiana, Michigan, Austin Peay State, IUPUI, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

The Cards' performances have been led this season by Wilkes-Krier, who shot the best team score in the first two matches.

The Hoosier Invitational is a three round event with 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday for the final round.
