The Spring 2002 Freshman Year Experience survey finds little difference from the 2001 survey.
However, key findings show an increase in the number of students who report using the university computer labs on a regular basis, as well as recreational computer use.
In 2002, freshmen reported that 75 percent of them used University Computer Labs, compared with 70 percent in 2001. Sixty-one percent of freshmen reported recreational use of the computer very often or often compared with 55 percent in 2001.
Use of the Student Health Center increased from 54 percent in 2001 to 60 percent in 2002.
Freshman interest in the Student Center decreased from 85 percent in 2001 to 70 percent in 2002.
The response rate for the FYE survey this year was 47 percent compared with 49 percent in 2001.
