Undefeated women's team to play on Friday and Sunday

An undefeated women's tennis team returns home for one match on Friday before traveling to Indiana on Sunday. Ball State (4-0), who downed Iowa State and Northern Iowa last weekend, will be hosting Illinois-Chicago.

Head coach Kathy Bull said that in the past her team has had some good battles with Illinois-Chicago.

"They do a good job with their program, and I expect that to be a close, tough match," Bull said. "The key will be well we play deep into the lineup."

The Cardinals battle Indiana at 9 a.m. Sunday. Bull said that IU has two matches that day, which accounts for the "weird schedule."

"Anytime we can get on IU's schedule, we'll take advantage," Bull said. "Being a Big Ten school, they'll have good players from top to bottom. We have to keep focusing on Friday as much as we can, though. We're pretty good about staying focused from week to week."

Individually, Melissa Roach is unbeaten at first singles and has teamed with Jill Wieman for a perfect mark at second doubles. Jenny Batty at second singles is also undefeated.
