Officer in stable condition after Tuesday night shooting

Alleged shooter held on three counts

Muncie police officer Steve Cox was reported to be in stable condition at Ball Memorial Hospital Wednesday after being shot during a raid at a home on 1st and Ebright streets. His alleged shooter, Jillian D. King, is being held on three counts including attempted murder, a class A felony. Cox was shot in the upper right thigh near the groin. He is resting at Ball Memorial Hospital. Chief Joe Winkle said he believes Cox will remain at the hospital until Thursday.
