MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- A low pressure system is making its way towards Muncie, but the rain and thunderstorms associated with it will not move in until later tonight. Throughout the afternoon hours, it will be partly cloudy with a high of 67. Then the rain will move in, bringing showers and thunderstorms throughout the night hours with a low of 56. Some of those storms can be severe, so keep an eye out for any watches/warnings that may be issued. The rain will be on and off throughout the day tomorrow with a high of 69 and breezy conditions, but more storms will move through Muncie early tomorrow night. The weekend brings cooler temperatures both days, as the low pressure system moves east and the jet stream dips south and east too. It will be breezy and partly cloudy on Saturday with a high of 50, but sun will return on Sunday with a high of 48. Beginning the work week on Monday brings partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 50s that will stick around into Tuesday as well.
MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) - Severe thunderstorms moved through East Central Indiana on Easter Sunday bringing periods of heavy rain, gusty winds and even some small hail. Once those strong storms moved through the area, a cold front brought much cooler temperatures to the area. Roughly 10 to 15 degrees colder than 9 p.m. Sunday. Despite the cooler temperatures, expect to see sunny skies return back to the forecast tomorrow. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50s with winds out of the NE at 10 to 15 mph. Wednesday will also be another nice day with sunny skies, however, breezy conditions are expected. Highs on Wednesday will reach the upper 60s and possibly the lower 70s. Thursday will be our next big chance for rain and thunderstorms to return back to the area. Some of the thunderstorms could be strong at times, make sure to always keep an eye to the sky. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Strong thunderstorms moved throughout throughout last evening. Lightning reports were frequent and hail was reported throughout east central Indiana. Unfortunately though, behind those thunderstorms was colder hair, so high temperatures are going to be about 20 degrees cooler than they were on Sunday. Tuesday and Wednesday we are going to see quite a bit of sunshine, especially on Tuesday. On Wednesday skies will grow cloudier throughout the day as the next low pressure system begins to approach our area. Our next rain chance is going to occur on Thursday, with the best rain chance occurring before noon. There is the possibility of a thunderstorm on Thursday as well, but as of right now we do not expect it to be severe. Temperatures will once again drop on Friday, and a lesser rain chance will stick around during the day before clearing out for the weekend. Perfect day on Saturday with partly sunny skies and dry conditions. On Sunday it will start off great with mostly cloudy skies and then transitioning to a rainy evening. The rain will clear out before the morning commute on Monday leaving clear skies and a high of 54. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Temperatures will begin to fall through Thursday as storms will roll through central Indiana. Our daily has of 62 degrees has already been reached by 9 AM, and will drop all the way into the upper 30's by Friday morning. Wind will also be a factor for Thursday, with wind speeds ranging from 20-30 miles per hour. Saturday will bring warmer temperatures again, with highs reaching into the 60's for this weekend. Sunday calls for a 20% chance for rain, but that shouldn't keep the Easter egg hunts from stopping. Monday holds a 70% chance for showers and a high of 50 before temperatures start to rise again into the 60's by Wednesday.

Throughout the morning hours of Thursday, there will be rain around the area with a chance for some potentially severe thunderstorms along with a high of 61. To end the work week on Friday, it will be a sunny day but it will be cool with temperatures sticking around the mid 40s for highs. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Warm temps take over east central Indiana as strong southwesterly winds bring in a welcomed spring-like air mass. This weather pattern will also bring in mostly cloudy skies and temps around 60 for Wednesday, before rain chances start to build Wednesday evening. Rain, and some rumbles of thunder, are expected for late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, with the heaviest precipitation expected over Muncie during the 7 am to 9 am hours. After that, lingering rain is expected throughout the day, with the possibility of even seeing a flurry on the back end of this system Thursday night, as temperatures take a plunge. The low Thursday night into Friday is expected to be around the freezing mark. Sun returns for Friday and Saturday, as temps recover, but Easter again brings the likelihood of rain. Temperatures will be mild throughout the day, but for any egg hunts or other outdoor activities a rain coat will be recommend. Wednesday night will bring a few pop up showers, but the main concern is the line of storms that will affect the Delaware County area early Thursday morning. The storms will push east and move out of the region by Thursday afternoon with leftover clouds and a few rain showers. Friday morning is looking to be mostly sunny with a few clouds.

During the day today we saw beautiful sunny skies and a breeze throughout the day, it was truly a spring day. As we have made our way into the evening we have seen high-level clouds move in ahead of the next low pressure system that is going to move through the southern Ohio River valley region from the southwest, but will have some effect on the weather we see here. Tomorrow there is the chance for some rain/snow mix early on in the day, turning to mainly a rain chance later in the day. Sunday the sunshine will return. Unfortunately throughout the weekend temperatures are going to be cooler than what they have been as we will only make it to the lower 40s. Monday and Tuesday we will see more sunshine in our forecast and high temperatures will once again making their way up to more spring like temperatures. Wednesday and Thursday are our next chances for rain as a low pressure system begins to work it's way through our area. Thursday during the day there is the chance for an isolated thunderstorm throughout the area, and late Thursday evening and into Friday is looking like the best chance for heavy precipitation. That heavy precip is likely to persist throughout Friday, possibly changing to snow overnight on Friday before moving our of our area Saturday morning. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Cooler temperatures today with temperatures reaching a high of 53. It is still a little windy today with winds from the Northwest at 10-20 mph. A high pressure system will keep conditions dry and clear for today. Clouds will move in tonight along with a cold front bringing chances of rain for the overnight hours. Get out your snow gear again, because there are chances of snow Saturday morning. Yes, the snow will be returning, but it won't last for too long. As temperatures warm up to 45 there will be a mixture of snow and rain. The temperatures will stay in the mid 40s with partly sunny skies until Tuesday when temperatures will warm back up to the 60s. Windy conditions will also return on Tuesday with wind gust possibly reaching over 40 mph. For the rest of the week there will be rain chances with the temperatures staying in the low 60s. The Cornfed Derby Dames is Muncie's premiere, all-women roller derby team. Members will be celebrating the team's sixth anniversary this April, and because of a successful end to last season, the team had a strong start this year.

MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Breezy conditions return for one last day in the central Indiana region, along with one last warm day. Winds will get quite gusty, with winds ranging between 20 and 30 miles per hour, but will settle down into the overnight hours. Thursday's high will reach 59 degrees and drop to 40 degrees overnight with clear conditions throughout the day. Temperatures will begin to drop starting Friday moving into the weekend, with highs only reaching into the mid 40's for your weekend highs. Saturday's low will be in the 20's, so dig those jackets back out if you though you wouldn't be needing them again. Warmer temperatures will return by Tuesday of next week, with a high of 59 and 64 for Wednesday, but it will feel a bit cooler, as high winds will return along with the higher temperatures.
