MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Over the past several days, we have seen what seemed like low pressure system after low pressure system move through our area. These clipper systems are known to move through quickly, and Saturday’s is not going to be the last one that moves through. There were still a few scattered showers by the time we headed to work/school. Temperatures for Monday are not going to make it out of the 40s, and with skies clearing overnight, expect a cold and frosty morning on Tuesday. Skies will be mostly clear on Tuesday, but overnight our next Alberta Clipper will begin to approach us. We expect to see rain throughout most of the day on Wednesday, but especially in the afternoon there is the possibility for a thunderstorm event. However, as of this time we do not expect it to be severe. Thursday the chance for rain lingers as another low pressure system begins to approach us and will move in by late Thursday. EARLY Friday morning there is the chance for some some flurries mixing with rain as temperatures dip below freezing. Fortunately for us, the weekend is when the sunshine will return and temperatures will begin to climb. For your weather updates, make sure to follow us on Twitter @NLIWeather

Throughout the entire course of yesterday, we received 0.26 inches of rain. Last night there were a few thunderstorms in the vicinity, which put on a good lightning show, and we picked up nearly half of our daily rainfall as that low pressure system moved through. Cold air moved into the area behind the cold front that passed through behind those thunderstorms, and that is going to bring us cooler temperatures than we have had the past couple of days. That, coupled with a trough in the jet stream, cooler Canadian air is going to move in to the area over the weekend and into next week. Both Friday and Saturday we can expect to see the chance for scattered showers in the afternoon, and temperatures on Saturday are going to dip down to the 40s. Sunday is going to be the pick of the days for the weekend, Sunny skies and a high temperature back in the 50s. Monday we have another chance for some rain to begin your work week. Tuesday we should see sunshine return, but temperatures will only be in the mid 40s. Wednesday more significant rain will move through the area and rain chance will linger into Thursday and Friday.
