In another close match, Ball State fell to Ohio 1-0 in a Mid-American Conference showdown.

The match remained scoreless until Ohio’s Megan Niebuhr gave the Bobcats the lead four minutes into the second half.

The Cardinals' offense was stifled all day, only attempting four shots on goal the entire second half. It was the third shutout loss for Ball State this season and the second straight.

Defensively, Ball State allowed 22 total shots on goal.  Cardinal goalkeeper Brooke Dennis recorded eight saves, tying her season-high.

This is the first time this season Ball State has suffered consecutive losses. Conference play has not been kind to Ball State thus far, with the Cardinals losing three of their last four games.

With the loss, Ball State falls to 6-4-2 on the season and 2-3 in the MAC. This pushes them out of their tie for second in the West division and into a tie for third.

Ball State will look to rebound on Sunday against Kent State (7-3-3; 2-1-2 MAC).
