Customers who visit an IHOP today can order a free short stack of pancakes and are encouraged to make a voluntary donation. Sponsors will sometimes match the donations.

The free pancakes are a part of an annual fundraiser for donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children and local charities. This year, the Muncie IHOP partnered with First Choice for Women as its local charity. Representatives from First Choice were at the IHOP to answer customer’s questions about the organization, which provides pregnancy advising, counseling and guidance.

This is the ninth year the restaurants have hosted this fundraiser. So far, the chain has raised more than $13 million in the United States, according to IHOP. The company expanded the fundraiser this year to include Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
