Ball State baseball sweeps, softball wraps up regular season over weekend

Ball State baseball completed a three-game sweep over Toldeo while softball finished its regular season dropping two of three games to Western Michigan. Baseball After getting its Friday game pushed back, Ball State (25-21, 13-5 MAC) swept Mid-American Conference West opponent Toledo (14-33, 7-11 MAC) in three straight games. Saturday's doubleheader included a wins by the score of 5-3 and 10-5, respectively.  In the first game, early run support by senior first baseman Caleb Stayton and pitcher Colin Brockhouse, who hit a solo home run in the second inning, aided Brockhouse en route to his third win of the season. In the second game, the Cardinals bounced back from a 5-0 deficit in the first two innings to score five runs in both the fifth and eighth innings.

33 years of success at Ball State Entrepreneurship's program

Ball State is home to one of the oldest entrepreneurship programs in the nation. On April 21, the Ball State Entrepreneurship program celebrated 33 years and honored the founder of the program, Donald Kuratko. The program, which took place at the Horizon Convention Center, also celebrated alumni and this year’s graduating class.

Spring Commencement moves to Worthen Arena

Due to the recent weather, this years Spring Commencement is moving to Worthen Arena. Interim President Terry King informed the Ball State community via email today that commencement, while it will still begin at the previously scheduled time of 10 a.m., will move from its usual location in the Quad. "In the best interest of our graduates and their families, we are moving Saturday's commencement ceremony to Worthen Arena," King said in an email.

Festival raises awareness for autism in Muncie

The Delaware County Fairgrounds hosted the 11th annual Autism Awareness Festival this weekend. Muncie citizens gathered inside Heartland Hall and Memorial Building for festivities that included bounce houses, silent auction items, photo booths, free lunch, games, and information booths with resources focused on raising a child with autism.

Pollen season hits early this year

Pollen season is here and it has hit with a force. According to Accuweather, this season started early and had some of the highest counts of pollen in recent years. Pollen allergies, often referred to as hay fever, affect millions of Americans each year. Unfortunately, we are feeling these effects a lot sooner than usual. Pollen season typically starts in April, but this year many people felt the affects as early as March.
