Alive Campaign to have rally tonight at Pruis Hall

In the fight against suicides, Ball State University's Alive Campaign is hosting the Alive Rally on Saturday. The rally will be held in Pruis Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. and will feature live music from T.J. Fields, along with special guest Steve Jones. According to the Alive Campaign's Web site, this will be its biggest event yet on Ball State's campus.

Back home again in Indiana, the start of Mid-American Conference play and a long awaited return from injury by starting libero Alyssa Rio had all the makings for a big night. Fans weren't disappointed as the Ball State University women's volleyball team steamrolled Northern Illinois University in three sets.

AUBURN, ALA. - Kickoff for Ball State University's game at Auburn University has been delayed half an hour after heavy rain swept through the area. The game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. It is the second week in a row Auburn has been forced to delay game time because of rain.

SOCCER: Ball State shutout in conference opener vs. Kent State

The Ball State University soccer team opened play in the Mid-American Conference at Kent State University with a 4-0 loss on Friday. The Golden Flashes' first goal came with some help from the Cardinals, who had a miscue with an own goal in the 21st minute.

Come Saturday at the Ohio University Invitational, the Ball State University cross country team will compete in a meet of firsts. It will mark its first race on the Mid-American Conference Championship course. The team will compete in its first 6K race of the season.

Grammy winner to perform at Emens tonight

A Grammy winner and Ball State University alumna will be performing Saturday night at Emens Auditorium. Pianist Angelin Chang won the award in 2007 for best instrumental soloist performance with an orchestra. She will join the Muncie Symphony Orchestra in the show titled "A Grammy Homecoming," which starts at 7:30 p.

FOOTBALL: Auburn leads Ball State 47-17 entering fourth quarter

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn University continues to pile up the points against Ball State University. Quarterback Chris Todd threw for two touchdowns in the third quarter to extend the Tigers' lead to 47-17 and tie the school-record for touchdown passes with five.

FOOTBALL: Ball State tied with Auburn after first quarter

AUBURN, Ala. - Taking advantage of a muffed punt, Ball State university got on the scoreboard first at Auburn University. Running back MiQuale Lewis gave the Cardinals a 7-0 lead less than three minutes into the game with a two-yard run. The Tigers would tie the score up at the end of the quarter with a 6-yard pass to tight end Tommy Trott.

FOOTBALL: Auburn pulls away from Ball State in second quarter

AUBURN, Ala. - The quick start by Ball State University was erased by Auburn University in the second quarter. The Tigers scored 26 points in the quarter to take a 33-10 lead into halftime. Quarterback Chris Todd completed his first eight passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

The Minnetrista Cultural Center is holding an interactive art exhibit that concentrates on Indiana's natural beauty and landscapes. "Open Space: Art about the Land" is raising awareness for The Red-Tail Conservancy, which was created to preserve and protect East Central Indiana's open spaces.

Downtown hosts 8th annual ArtsWalk

Art in many forms was presented Thursday during the eighth annual ArtsWalk in downtown Muncie. About 50 galleries and venues were open throughout Walnut and Main streets, featuring musicians, dancers and paintings. Sophomore arts education major Sinai Lopez said it was the first time she went to ArtsWalk.

FDA bans flavored cigarettes

Freshman Jason Cupp said he was angry when he learned the Federal Drug Administration banned flavored cigarettes Monday and immediately bought a local store's last three flavored packs. "I was just really surprised that [the FDA] could do that," Cupp said.
