Sutton Foster makes first campus visit

Broadway singer, dancer and actress Sutton Foster arrived on campus Tuesday to begin her five-day visit to the Department of Theatre and Dance to teach master classes, give students feedback about their work and speak about her experiences as a performer.

Sorority event to benefit ARF a success

Music blared as about 100 students dressed in animal print clothing danced in a dimly lit room in the Fine Arts Building and Museum of Art. Brightly colored balloons in green, purple and pink with animal print designs decorated the room, and food items such as animal crackers and zebra cakes were available in dog bowls.

Rinker Center has study abroad fair

An increase in the number of international programs is attracting more students to study in other countries. The Rinker Center for International Programs at Ball State University had its study abroad fair Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Atrium.

OUR VIEW: Safe to speculate

Unfortunately, Ball State University has to cut $15.2 million from its budget over the next 17 months, with close to a third of the cut coming before June 30. But it's going to be mid-March before any ideas are presented to the Board of Trustees. In the meantime, we are all left to speculation about what might be cut.

Most students are required to complete an internship before graduation, and some students' internships take them across oceans, across the state or, for some, across the street in their own hometown. For second-year public relations graduate student Vanessa Virbitsky, her internship took her to the mountains of Colorado.

Muncie to install parking meters on New York and Riverside

The city of Muncie will place parking meters on Riverside and New York avenues later this year, two years after their approval. Ron Ball, supervisor for streets and signs department, said the project was approved because the city had been trying to control parking on Ball State.
