MEN'S TENNIS: Pavia garners weekly MAC award

Pavia has also excelled as the Cardinals' No. 1 singles player; he defeated Butler University's Ben Raynauld in a barnburner, 6-7 (5), 6-4 (14-12), Saturday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. In all this season, Pavia is 11-2 at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Faculty celebrates friendship, roots of jazz

 Frank Puzzullo has more than his fair share of experience in the world of jazz music. He has appeared with a number of different performers throughout his life, including Woody Herman, Ray Brown, James Moody and Art Pepper. He played alongside Ray Brown at Lu and Charlie's, a famous New Orleans jazz club. He has even recorded an album of his own original music titled "Coaches Choice," an album through ARTCO Records.

More than a month

 Jean Amman was just beginning her career in education and administration at Ball State University 26 years ago. While just getting her foot in the door, she remembers hearing stories of colleagues and peers who had experienced discrimination and gone unnoticed in the workforce simply because they were woman. Amman said through her leadership at AAUW, she hopes to give a voice to those women who never were allowed to speak out about their experiences, while also teaching women of today's generation to use their voices as an effective tool.

GYMNASTICS: Cardinals head to MAC Championships looking to prove themselves

The Ball State University gymnastics team will find out what it is capable of when it travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, at 2 p.m. Saturday to compete in the MAC Championships. The seven MAC schools with gymnastics programs will come together to vie for the championship. Although Ball State has not competed with more than four teams in a meet this season, the team is trying to remain focused on its performance.

SOFTBALL: Ball State sweeps doubleheader on road at Dayton

The Ball State University softball team kept on rolling Wednesday evening, taking care of business with a doubleheader sweep at the University of Dayton. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 19-6 and have now won 17 of their last 19 games.
