MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Ball State's Nelson plays 'out of his mind' in upset victory

The feeling of knocking off a top-five team was something the Ball State University middle attacker had never experienced in his career. It was even more meaningful to Nelson, though, because he out-played an All-American in the process of securing one of the biggest upsets in Ball State's 46-year program history.

SOCCER: Cardinals chop down Sycamores in Spring game

The Cardinals took down the Sycamores, 1-0, at the fifth annual Spring Fling held at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Spring Fling donates all of its admission earnings to Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do; a camp for children living with and surviving cancer.

BASEBALL: Ball State wins first MAC series of season at Ohio

The win secured Ball State's first series victory of the year to open the Mid-American Conference season. The Cardinals (8-15) split the first two games of the weekend, winning 10-1 Friday, before dropping the first game Saturday 4-2 and winning the second game 4-0.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Four Cardinals named Academic All-MAC

To qualify as an Academic All-MAC candidate, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and participate in 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence, however, are not eligible.
